Tracey E. Moore

Tracey E. Moore, MEd, PSS, ALWF, serves on the PeerFest Planning Committee and co-leads the Workshops Subcommittee. She also served on the PeerFest 2020 Planning Committee. She believes “We can be victims of circumstances, or we can choose to be survivors of environments”. This is not just a phrase coined by Tracey but a philosophy on which she has based her own mental health wellness and recovery journey. Tracey is the founder and program administrator of Anchoring Hopes Wellness Recovery Institute. Anchoring Hopes is a recovery-oriented, peer-run organization. It was established to promote mental health wellness and recovery through a trauma-informed, holistic approach of evidence-based education and training, person-centered peer support, and innovative workforce development through community partnerships. Tracey is a native Houstonian from one of the oldest African American communities in Houston called Sunnyside. Tracey is looking forward to ensuring that PeerFest 2024 is an enlightening and educational event for peers to initiate and sustain their own mental health and/or substance use recovery.
