Terri Harris
Terri Harris co-leads the Logistics Subcommittee for PeerFest 2024 and was a member of the original PeerFest 2016 Planning Committee. She has traveled the path of recovery since 1999. A California native, Terri relocated to Texas in 2010. She found a mental health team and working together, drastically changed her life and treatment plan. Terri went from being overmedicated to being guided and encouraged to practice alternatives, with diet and meditation in lieu of some medications, and reducing the dosage of others. Terri was certified in National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family to Family, Peer to Peer, Smarts for Advocacy, and Emotional CPR (eCPR) principles. She worked as a Peer Support Specialist, and is furthering her education in mental health and alternative modalities. Other interests include mental health and employee rights and laws; alternative health modalities; and connecting with other peers worldwide. She lives in Waco, Texas.
